License Suspension Arizona DUI explanation video
Hi. My name is Scott Maasen with the Maasen Law Firm. Today I want to talk about DUI cases and specifically when you get a license suspension or a license suspensions in those type of cases.
There can be license suspensions in DUI cases anywhere from 30 days to 90 days to a year to three years. So it really depends on what type of case you have determines on if you’re facing a suspension or not. In most cases, a suspension can happen. In a DUI case, for example, as a first offense, someone’s facing a 90-day license suspension. That can be reduced down to 30 days no driving and a 60-days restricted driver’s license and driving under certain circumstances.
You really need to understand that license suspensions are not related to the court case. A lot of people that I talk to, when they get a ticket they think they go to court and that’s it and there’s nothing else to worry about, which is really not the case. In every DUI case, there’s the court case and there’s also the driver’s license case where you really need to deal with that. There’s a separate set of rules and timing and a process there that you really need to understand.
It’s really important to talk to an experienced DUI attorney to go over that process and to understand that. You don’t want to be facing a longer license suspension or a lengthy license suspension if you can help it. I would be happy to talk to you about that any time in more detail about your specific case. Everybody’s individual background and driving record and the facts of their case matter. Give me a call.
